We are an innovative nonprofit that helps other nonprofits and their supporters raise money, raise awareness and change the world. We give nonprofits tools ranging from new takes on classic fundraisers to inventive new ways to raise money and awareness. All 501(c)(3) nonprofits in the US and their supporters can use our plethora of tools to raise money for their causes. We give particular attention to helping highly disadvantaged people who are afflicted by extreme poverty, climate change and slavery. We do this through a combination of education, advocacy and fundraising.

Consider this: there are plenty of good quality nonprofits. In the US alone, there are more than 1 million. There are also enough people who want to work at them. When nonprofits place a job ad, they almost always get enough applicants. The only thing missing is more funding so they can increase the amount of good they do. That's why we're named MaximumGood and why we focus on helping nonprofits generate more donations. But that's not how we started out ...

We started as a nonprofit news organization focused on providing high quality news and information to make the world a better place. In need of funding ourselves, we started having many great ideas for how we could raise money. At first, we planned to only use the approaches for ourselves. Then we realized if we shared them with all nonprofits, their impact could be 100 times greater and eventually 100,000 times greater if 10% of nonprofits took advantage of them.

So we greatly expanded our focus and changed our name from The Daily Source to MaximumGood. One of the cool things about our approach is that anytime we have a new idea or someone shares a new idea with us, the other nonprofits are able to benefit from it. In addition, we continue to provide daily news at DailySource.org. We also create unique tools for raising awareness and taking action on poverty, climate change and slavery, and we share them with nonprofits who work in those areas.

Potential Story Ideas

As journalists ourselves, we know that the staff sizes of most newsrooms have been slashed over the past two decades. Thus the reporters who remain are overworked and have to publish far more stories each week than before ... but in the same amount of time. So to make your life easier, we've put together potential story ideas and included quotes from us related to each possible story. You're very welcome to schedule an interview with us. But if you're strapped for time, feel free to use the quotes below.

Supporting the nonprofit sector

Almost all of the providers of fundraising apps to nonprofits are for profit companies that are making major profits off of nonprofits and taking money out of the nonprofit sector. We decided it was time to change that. With us, not a penny leaves the nonprofit world. On a mission to maximize goodness

Our nonprofit was founded as a daily news website named The Daily Source. Over time we had all kinds of interesting ideas for fundraisers and transformed into a larger mission. We originally had the fundraising ideas as ways to raise money. Our nonprofit was founded as a daily news website named The Daily Source. This paragraph will describe how nonprofits in the three topic areas above will be able to have their own pages at each of the sites above, which they can share with their supporters to raise awareness, and all donations that are made through their page will go to their nonprofit. Peter has some existing text about this. In the future, ask him to locate it.
